Editor and completion
The CodeMirror editor, file workspace, and local fill-in-the-middle completion that never uploads your code.
Palisade includes a full editor, so you can drop into any thread and work by hand. Editing assistance runs on a bundled local model.

⌘⇧E. - Fuzzy go-to-file with
⌘P. - Find in files with
⌘⇧F. - New file with
⌘N. - Editable CodeMirror tabs with language-aware highlighting.

File operations are scoped to the project root.
Local completion
Fill-in-the-middle (FIM) completion suggests code at your cursor.
It runs through a bundled llama-server sidecar and a local GGUF model.
Your code is not uploaded, and Palisade does not upload a repository index.
Press Option+Tab (Alt+Tab) to accept a suggestion.
The same local model also suggests thread titles and commit subjects.
On Intel Macs, local inference runs on the CPU.
Settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| AI completion | Turns local FIM completion on or off. The settings screen shows the model and notes that it runs locally. |
| Accept suggestion | The key that accepts a suggestion. Default Option+Tab. |
| Editor font | The font used in the editor. |
| Wrap long lines | Soft-wraps lines wider than the editor. |
Theme, accent hue, shell colours, and editor colours are also configurable. Dark and light modes both exist.
Building from source
The sidecar and model are build inputs and are gitignored. Without them, the app runs with completion disabled. Nothing else depends on them.
